Chandigarh Starts a Helpline Number for Information on Exchanging Rs. 500 & Rs. 1000 Notes

The news of demonetization of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes has made everyone rush to the bank / ATM. Chandigarh is experiencing a huge rush as people queue up outside banks / ATM to get their money exchanged or to get Rs. 100 notes. Taking all this into consideration, Chandigarh Administration has started a helpline number where people can get the required information about cash availability and answers to other queries.

Helpline no. – 1860-180-2067

Why it was Needed:

You just get out of home & you see huge rush and long queues at all the exchange outlets. Be it ATM’s or banks or anything, every place is witnessing huge crowds. Half of the times, you get annoyed waiting outside in queue and then you get to listen that there is no cash in the ATM. Or a bank official telling you that the cash has finished.

Any Bank Can Exchange Money:

Anyone who is willing to exchange currency can do so from any bank irrespective of the fact that there is an account of that person in the specific bank or not. Banks should not refuse for doing so and if some bank personnel refuses, they can call up the helpline number anytime between 8 AM to 8 PM from Monday to Saturday and necessary help will be provided immediately.

What Is The Helpline For:

Keeping public problems in view, Chandigarh UT Administration announced the commencement of this helpline on November 14, 2016 (Monday). People can get answers to all their queries from this helpline number. General problems faced by the public include non-availability of cash in ATM’s, refusal of bank personnel for currency exchange, withdrawal queries, long queues and other related issues. All of these will be addressed and taken care of via this special helpline number that has been started by Chandigarh Administration.

A Relief for Chandigarh:

Setting up this helpline will surely prove as a great relief for Chandigarh residents. No insulting refusals and no problems for non-availability of cash. This helpline number will give you all the necessary information of the nearest outlet where you can get your currency notes exchanged or nearest ATM’s where you can withdraw cash. Chandigarh Administration yet again proves its concern for general public through this small yet a big step.
