The international terminal building of the Chandigarh Airport at Mohali, which is on the verge of being completed has been decorated with large murals. These murals have been fixed on the inside walls of Chandigarh international airport as a part of interior decoration.
All the murals have been made by students of Government college of Arts, Sector 10, Chandigarh. A special team of 25 students comprising those of BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) as well as MFA (Master of Fine Arts) was en-marked for the task. The Government College of Fine Arts was allocated a total sum of Rs. 44 Lakh for the task. The murals which have come up at Chandigarh International Airport, Mohali include:
- A cart with 2 horses
- A bullock cart
- A choupal
- Lord Krishna mural (Taken from a scene in Mahabharata)
- A painting reflecting the culture of Haryana.
- A Painting showing Bhangra based on Punjab’s culture.
These murals will add up to the beauty of International terminal of the Chandigarh Airport at Mohali. The airport is scheduled to be inaugurated during this year but no final date has yet been announced.
