Chandigarh: Central Government has announced to make Chandigarh International Airport operational for 24X7 flying. Recently, Central Government asked Punjab and Haryana High Court to make Chandigarh Airport functional for round the clock. As per reports it has been expected that from 31 March 2019, Chandigarh Airport may operate 24X7.
Earlier in 2018, it was expected that Chandigarh Airport will start Night operation by August 2019. Now the Central Government has claimed to make Chandigarh Airport operational for night flights as well by March 2019. Chandigarh International Airport to Start 24/7 Operations From March 2019
Chandigarh International Airport has been expected to start 24/7 operations from 31st March 2019. According to reports, substantial work to make the airport operational for the night as well has been done. Even the airport officials have received offers from airlines to fly between Chandigarh-Delhi from 11.45 pm to 6 am. Although as of now, the Chandigarh International Airport has been only functional in between 8 am to 8 pm.
Airport Authorities along with Municipal Corporation have been working upon to extend the parking facility in the Chandigarh Airport. As many airlines have been all set to operate from Chandigarh International Airport at night as well. Last year only, Chandigarh Airport was shut down twice for the renovation work in the month of February and May. Whereas High Court has asked the authorities to submit the development work report by 12 February 2019.

With the night operation from the Chandigarh International Airport, people may expect connectivity with many cities and countries. Recently Chandigarh Airport started the flight to Nanded and now have been planning to connect with many more cities. According to the authorities, Chandigarh to Mumbai, Delhi and Middle East flights are on cards. Whereas as per the International connectivity is concerned, Chandigarh people may fly directly to Amsterdam Machester, Paris and London.
