The total cost of this project will be Rs. 2070 Crore.

The distance between Chandigarh and Ludhiana is 105 Kilometers which takes somewhere around 2 hours and at times even more depending on the traffic on the highway. But with this 6-lane highway, people will forget the traffic chaos and you’ll be able to cover the distance between Chandigarh and Ludhiana is as less as 1 hour.

As uncertain it might seem to be, the project has been started by NHAI which confirms the news. So, next time you’d be going to Ludhiana by road on your next trip, it would be shorter and far more comfortable.

NHAI affirmed the news on 6th September stating that it had awarded Rs 2,070 crore for highway project to Ashoka Concessions in Punjab. The highway is going to be 76 km long featuring 4 to 6 laning of a section of NH-95 from Ludhiana to Kharar.

If you are wondering about on-route spots, we have great info for you. The project starts from Kharar town while passing through Morinda bypass, Khamano town and Samrala bypass. After Samrala, the 6-lane highway will terminate at Ludhiana. The reason behind the project seems to be the focus on enhancing connectivity from Chandigarh to the industrial hub of Ludhiana. It will therefore serve as a quick traffic movement from Ludhiana to other parts of Northern India via Chandigarh.

Concerning the South-West traffic of Punjab towards Chandigarh, the project will also offer alternative connectivity of NH-1 to Chandigarh. After the completion of Delhi to Chandigarh Highway, this step can easily spark news in other parts of the country about the fast growing connectivity systems of North India and when it comes to Chandigarh, we all know how the entire India speaks good about our city beautiful.

So, get ready for a drive between Chandigarh & Ludhiana on this 6-lane highway. The project is expected to be completed within 1 year.
