Chandigarh Markets May Handle Parking Facility on Their Own | Free Or In Low Rates

Chandigarh: After Chandigarh Municipal Corporation terminated the contract of 26 paid parking lots, markets association offered to run the parking lots. Recently, it has been reported that 16 markets of Chandigarh proposed to handle the parking lots by the association only.

This week only, Chandigarh MC cancelled the contract for 26 paid parking lots that were handled by Mumbai based firm. Now the market welfare association has proposed to handle the parking lot by themselves. Although MC Chandigarh has been yet to decide the same. Know free parking markets and new rates for parking in Chandigarh markets below.

These markets in Chandigarh to soon be available for Free Parking

Chandigarh Municipal Corporation got a total of 16 proposals from the market welfare association to run the parking lots by their own. Although now out of the total 16 proposals, 8 markets association proposed to run their parking lots free for Chandigarhians. Even the marketers focus on to reduce the financial burden on the shoppers in regards to the parking lots in the city beautiful Chandigarh.

According to the proposals, market welfare association of Sector 19-C, 46-C, 23-C, 20-C, 22-D, 27-C, 27-C Block 1 and NAC Manimajra market have offered to run their parking lots for free. As of now, Sector 19 and Sector 22 are already running their parking lot by and also absolutely free.

Whereas these markets may lower their Parking rates in Chandigarh

Further out of the total 16 markets welfare association, 8 markets proposed to run their parking lots with no profit, no loss. As per the proposal, Sector 45-B, 21-C, 19-D, 44-D, 11-D, 8-B, Sector 20 Computer market and GPO Building Sector 17 proposed for no profit no loss. According to the proposal, these markets will parking rates between Rs. 2 to 5. For 2-wheeler, residents have to pay Rs. 2 and for carking parking, one has to pay Rs. 5 in Chandigarh.

Although the decision regarding the parking lots is awaited from Chandigarh Municipal Corporation. As per reports, MC will decide the same by 28 February 2019. Hope to see the change soon in the city in parking lots. So get ready residents to park your vehicle free or in very low rates in Chandigarh markets.
