There are currently three versions of the Chandigarh Metro Map. These versions vary as there were two different organisations which were involved in the survey to decide the route of Chandigarh Metro. One survey was done by RITES and the other was done by DMRC. Considering the main points of both these surveys along with its own factors, Chandigarh Administration has finally decided the route for the first phase of Chandigarh Metro.
According to the Chandigarh Metro Map, which has been prepared by the Chandigarh Administration, Punjab and Haryana Government, there will be 2 lines running north-south and east-west across the city.
Chandigarh Metro Map – Red Line
The north south corridor of the Chandigarh Metro will be called as the Red Line. It will start from the Capital Complex, Sector 1 and pass by Sector 17, Sector 22, Sector 35, Sector 43, Phase 7 (Mohali), Gurudwara Singh Shaheedan (Mohali) and will continue till Aerocity, Mohali. The total length of the red line as per Chandigarh Metro Map is 12.47 Kms.
