Chandigarh Police Constable Slaps Citizen, Suspended | Here’s The Viral Video

The Chandigarh Police suspended a head constable for slapping a local resident. The head constable slapped the Chandigarh resident when made a video of the policeman while talking on his mobile phone while driving a motorcycle. The head constable employed with the Chandigarh Police was not only talking one mobile while driving but was also caught on camera for not wearing his helmet properly.

Why the head constable slapped the Chandigarh Resident?

According to reports, the head constable was talking on mobile phone while driving a motorcycle and was also not wearing the helmet properly. The Chandigarh resident filmed the incident in his mobile phone and when the latter questioned the Chandigarh policeman how could he break law, the Chandigarh Policemen got furious and slapped the Chandigarh resident who was filming him talking on the phone while riding a bike.

The video that went viral

The video made by the resident shows how he approached the Chandigarh police constable, while the latter was talking on mobile phone. While filming the whole scene the resident reached the Chandigarh cop and asked him, ‘Aap bike chala rahe ho helmet sar pe fasa ke uppar se aap phone use kar rahe ho, upar se aap humein bolte ho ki aap aise kar rahe ho waise kar rahe ho ye to galat baat hai na…'(You are driving bike without properly wearing your helmet and you are also talking on phone. And then you tell us that this is you do this, you do that, this is wrong).

The moment the boy finished asking this question, the Chandigarh cop lost his cool and slapped the youth filming the whole scene on his mobile phone.

Head Constable suspended

The video that went viral on social media, was uploaded by the former union minister and Congress leader Manish Tiwari. The video, that was doing rounds on WhatsApp was uploaded by Manish Tiwari on his twitter handle seeking action against the policeman.

The head constable, who is seen in the video that went viral on social media, has been identified as Surinder Singh. Surinder Singh, head constable, Chandigarh Police slapped the resident when he pointed out the traffic violation. The incident took place on the road dividing Sector 36/37, Chandigarh.

Taking action on the viral video, Shashank Anand, SSP Traffic Chandigarh police stated that the head constable has been suspended. Surinder Singh, head constable, Chandigarh Police has been suspended violating traffic norms and misconduct.

Besides the suspension, the head constable, Chandigarh police has also been challenged for not wearing his helmet properly and speaking on the phone while driving.
