Chandigarh Police Have Finally Caught a Gang of Thief Involved In Two-Wheeler Theft Cases

The Chandigarh Police have caught a gang of thieves on Tuesday who was involved in stealing two-wheelers. After the Chandigarh police busted the two-wheeler thieves they were able to solve 50 two-wheeler theft cases happened during the last 1.5 years in the city.

However, the police have already recovered 12 stolen two-wheelers and they are questioning the thieves to recover the rest of them. The Chandigarh police have caught 3 people and the thieves are identified as Rakesh Kumar, a 43-year-old man and a resident of Kangra (HP), Pradesh Deshraj, a 28-year-old man and a resident of Panchkula, Ravi Narayan, a scrap dealer.

3 Thieves Caught By Chandigarh Police For Stealing Two-Wheelers 

Rakesh Kumar, a 43-year-old man and a resident of Kangra came to Chandigarh around 20 years ago and worked as a mechanic. Rakesh Kumar met Deshraj 18 months ago at a scooter repair shop. Deshraj, a driver had opened the scooter repair shop in Dhakoli.

Rakesh and Deshraj decided to steal two-wheelers for making quick money. They both met Ravi Narayan, a scrap dealer who has a shop in Burail and used to buy spare parts of the stolen two-wheelers.

Rakesh And Deshraj Were Held For Stealing Two-Wheelers In Sector 34 Chandigarh

Rakesh and Deshraj were arrested for stealing two-wheelers in Sector 34 Chandigarh. They both were arrested after Darua passed a secret information to the Chandigarh police against Rakesh and Deshraj for stealing two-wheelers. Later, Ravi was also arrested.

Kareen Sharma lodged a complaint on April 9 as her activa had been stolen from outside Apni Mandi in Sector 34 Chandigarh. Two mobile phones were also missing.

Rakesh, Deshraj and Ravi are in the police custody till May 4, 2017. Their main target was to steal Activas and later sell the spare parts of the two-wheelers in the spare parts market.

How The Thieves Used To Execute Their Plan

The target of the thieves was mainly Activa and they used to steal the Activas from the Rehri Market and Apni Market in Chandigarh. They also did not miss an opportunity to steal two-wheelers parked at isolated places in various sectors of Chandigarh. Their main target was to steal older models of Activa.

They were masterminds as they had a master key by which they unlocked the Activas and drove them away.

As per the Chandigarh police, Rakesh, Deshraj and Ravi were involved in almost 50 two-wheeler theft cases in the past 18 months.
