Panjab University (Chandigarh) is all set to roll out the fee hike of 5% in the coming session after getting approval from Syndicate from 2018. Syndicate has approved the proposal for the hike of 5% fee in all colleges affiliated to PU from the session 2018 onwards. Although earlier it was proposed that the fee will be increased by 10%, but in the previous meeting, Syndicate asked to make it 5%.
And on its recent meet, Syndicate approved the fee hike of 5% in all colleges of Punjab & Chandigarh affiliated to PU. So get ready to pay more fee for the higher education in PU affiliated colleges in Punjabi & Chandigarh. After schools, its time for college students to pay a high fee in Panjab University.
Panjab University (Chandigarh): Students to Pay more fee from Session 2018
As per the decision of the Syndicate committee, now the students seeking admission in any of the PU affiliated colleges in Chandigarh or Punjab will have to pay the increased fee of 5%. The decision of the fee hike has impacted around 2.5 lakh of students from 188 colleges affiliated to PU (Chandigarh). And the maximum of Rs. 1000 will be increased for both tuition & examination fee.
With the increased fee, Pu affiliated colleges are aiming to provide better amenities including infrastructure, hygiene, & environment to the students. The committee also proposed that the fee hike of 5% is reasonable as 10% hike in the fee would decrease the number of admissions. As due to privates colleges, PU affiliated has earlier also faced less number of admissions.
Other decision regarding PU affiliated Colleges in Punjab
Apart from the decision of fee hike, Syndicate committee has also come up with many new changes in the Panjab University affiliated colleges like- Quota of the backward class has been double from session 2018-19, Transfers of many professors, poor quality construction, including many other problems & cases of PU faculty.
So it has been assured that students who are seeking admission for the session 2018-19 to Panjab University or any of its affiliated colleges will have to deposit hiked fee of 5% in the tuition & examination fee. Let’s see what more waiting for the new students of the colleges in session 2018-19.
