Chandigarh railway station has bagged 6th position among 75 other railway stations of India in terms of cleanness as per a recent government survey. According to the results of the survey, which was carried out by IRCTC, Chandigarh is the 6th cleanest railway station in India among the A1 category stations – that account for annual earning of more than 60 crore. The news of Chandigarh railway station being in the list top 10 cleanest stations of India at 6th position has spread happiness among residents.
IRCTC had chosen random people at Railway Station over a course of time and asked them to fill up forms while they were waiting for their train to arrive at the platform. This entire activity was conducted at all A1 category railway stations in India. Over 400 people were selected randomly and their feedback was analysed. There were 40 different parameters on which the results have been declared.
Rank of Other Railway Stations in terms of Cleaniness
The ranks bagged by other well known railway stations in North India include:
New delhi railway station = 54th Rank.
Ludhiana Railway Station = 55th Rank
Jammu Tawi Railway Station = 20th Rank.
Ambala Cant. = 56th Rank.
Amritsar Railway Station = 57th Rank.
1st rank went to Surat, 2nd to Rajkot while 3rd cleanest railway station went to Bilaspur.
Chandigarh Railway Station Cleanliness Rank
There has been a proposal to make the Chandigarh Railway Station as a model station. According to the proposal, a shopping mall would be set up on the first and second floor of the railway station and complete area will be fully air conditioned.
Chandigarh was declared second cleanest city of India in 2016 Swatch Bharat rankings. And now, in cleanness of railway stations survey, Chandigarh has bagged a position in the top 10 railway stations of India. This is a great news for those who often travel by train and visit the railway station at Chandigarh.
