The Chandigarh Education Department has announced a common schedule for admission to nursery class in all private and convent schools of Chandigarh for the year 2016-17. A meeting was held with all Chandigarh school principals and various dates for admission schedule were finalized. It is mandatory for all schools in Chandigarh to follow the schedule and stick to the decided dates.

Admission Schedule for 2015-16 in Chandigarh Schools
All schools will display the information related to nursery class admission on their notice boards by 30th November, 2015. This information will contain the total number of seats, fee structure, admission criteria, age requirement and other important dates including the admission draw results date.
1 December to 20 December, 2015 = Parents will be able to get admission forms from school premises within these dates. The last date to submit the form will be decided by school. It would be somewhere around the last week of December.
List of eligible candidates will be put on the notice board of each school by 30th December, 2015. This list will contain the names of candidates who meet the required criteria and are eligible for admission.
11 January to 25 January, 2016 = During these days, each school will put up the final list of students who have been admitted along with the waiting list of candidates.
27 January to 16 February, 2016 = Parents of selected students will have to deposit the school fee during these days. The fee deposit procedure will be carried by the respective school. Once fee is deposited, it will confirm the seat in that particular school.
18th February, 2016 = Each school will display the list of students who will be selected from the waiting list. Parents will have to deposit the fee of students selected from the waiting list from 18 feb to 29 Feb, 2016.
Getting your ward admitted in the school of your choice is not an easy task in Chandigarh. Although there are a number of schools for nursery admission in Chandigarh but parents want their children to get admitted to the best schools. Some good schools for nursery admission in Chandigarh which will be a favourite for 2015-16 session include Sacred Heart, Carmel Convent, St. Johns, Bhavan Vidalaya etc.
The education department of Chandigarh has stated that a school can choose to admit students in Nursery through any of the following methods – point system, lucky draw or first come first come basis. But the dates mentioned above for 2016-17 admission schedule have to be followed by each school in Chandigarh.
