The Chandigarh Administration has finally managed to set up a public Wi-Fi zone which will be absolutely free to use and anyone will be able to use it. Chandigarh Administration has been trying to set up free Wi-Fi zone in Chandigarh since a long time but was not able to do it due to lack of interest among internet providers. But now, finally a Wi-Fi zone has been set up and it would be functional from the third week of July.
While you might be thinking to go and connect Wi-Fi on your smartphone to check it in reality, let us tell you the exact location where this free public Wi-Fi zone has been set up in Chandigarh along with the terms and conditions to use it.

Internet Provider: BSNL.
Internet Speed: 2 Mbps.

How to Use Free Wi-Fi at ISBT, Chandigarh
The Wi-Fi zone which has been set up at ISBT in Sector 43, Chandigarh can be used by anyone. However you’ll have to go through the following steps:
- Connect to available Wi-Fi. There would be no password.
- You would be re-directed to an authentication screen.
- Enter your information with phone number on this screen.
- A password would be sent in the form of a text message to the number provided.
- Use that password for authentication and browse internet.
If you follow all the 5 steps above, do not think that you would be able to sit at ISBT Chandigarh forever and browse the internet through free Wi-Fi for as long as you want. There is a time limit that is associated with each session. A user will be able to use the free Wi-Fi for a duration of 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, the connection will automatically be disconnected.
