Chandigarh (The City Beautiful) Welcomes France President, Hollande

As the President of France, Mr. Hollande expressed his desire to visit Chandigarh, the Administration swung into action to make his visit a memorable one. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India would also join Hollande on his Chandigarh visit.

The roads in Chandigarh from where the President of France will pass have been decked up. Although Chandigarh already ranks Number 1 as the Greenest and the Cleanest City of India, Chandigarh Administration has not left even a single stone unturned on the way from Airport to Hotel Taj and then from Sector 10 Museum to Rock Garden.

Highlights of France President’s Chandigarh Visit

  • Will visit Rock Garden.
  • Will visit Sector 17 Plaza.
  • Will have a brief stay along with food at Hotel Taj, Sector 17.
  • Will visit Arts Museum in Sector 10.
  • Will visit Le Corbusier Centre in Sector 19.
  • Will visit Capitol Complex in Sector 1.
  • Will give a brief business meeting session at Hotel Taj.

In order to extend a warm welcome to the President of France and Prime Minister of India, Chandigarh Administration has put up hoardings on street lights on major roads in the city.

The local BJP unit has planned cultural dance shows at 4 points in Chandigarh from where France President Hollande and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pass. The permission for the same was sought from the Prime Minister Office in New Delhi. One such stage has been set up in front of Hotel Taj and at Plaza in Sector 17.
