ChattBir Zoo, one of the most famous zoos located near Zirakpur is all set to become a hotspot for wildlife enthusiasts if everything goes well. The ChattBir Zoo was opened in the 1970s and is also a home to a lot of birds, reptiles and mammals. The ChattBir Zoo authorities are working on an eco-tourism project.
The eco-tourism project will give a new and a completely different experience to all the wildlife enthusiasts. The ChattBir Zoo authorities said that the eco-tourism project is at an initial stage and the plan is to turn ChattBir Zoo into a holiday destination.
ChattBir Zoo To Soon Turn Into A Holiday Destination
The ChattBir Zoo authorities will turn the zoo into a holiday destination and the visitors will be taken for a 2-2.5 km zoo safari. After that, the visitors will be getting various facilities when they reach the banks of river Ghaghar. The visitors will also be able to enjoy games like beach volleyball and will also get food and beverages once they reach Ghaghar.
Apart from these facilities, the ChattBir Zoo authorities have also planned to renovate the rest house of Bhupinder Singh. Photographs of princely rulers will be put up on the walls of the rest houses. The walls would also have a write-up on the historical importance.
ChattBir Zoo Will Be A Place For Wildlife Photographers
The Block officer of the ChattBir Zoo said that the project will be starting soon and the authorities aim to expand the zoo in the coming future. The forest area and the ChattBir Zoo will be a perfect place for the photographers as they will be able to capture some stunning pictures of the animals.
The ChattBir Zoo authorities will have to take an approval for their upcoming project from other departments like Irrigation Department. Security has been a major concern and the authorities will soon come up a with a plan. If the project goes well, the ChattBir Zoo will attract a lot of tourists from North India.
A New Section Coming Up In ChattBir Zoo
A new Nocturnal section will be coming up in ChattBir Zoo. The visitors will be able to see animals during the evening. The timings of the zoo are from 9 am to 5 pm and the ChattBir Zoo authorities are planning to extend the zoo timings for the visitors till 7 pm. The proposal has been sent and the authorities are waiting for the approval.
