Chandigarh Organizes 2-Day Children’s Film Festival | Deciedes to make it an Annual Event

Chandigarh Administration has organized a 2-day film festival for children which will cater to over 15,000 children from various government and orphanages from across the city. During the 2 day film festival, children of various age groups will be shown a movie at cinema halls in Chandigarh absolutely free of cost. Chandigarh administration has made arrangements at 29 movie screens at various cinema halls of Chandigarh for this film festival. The details of Children’s film festival being held at Chandigarh are as follow:

Date = 24th & 25th February, 2016.

Movie = How to train your Dragon.

Cinema Halls = 29 screens across various cinema halls / multiplexes.

For Whom = Children of government schools & orphanages.

Children’s film festival 2016 Chandigarh was inaugurated by Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki, Administrator of Chandigarh and the Governer of Punjab & Haryana at Piccadilly multiplex in Sector 34, Chandigarh.

The children would be provided with proper transportation facility and refreshment. This is the first time that something of this sort is being organized in Chandigarh. Solanki appreciated Chandigarh DC, Ajit Balaji who introduced this concept for city’s children.

It was further stated by the DC that this event would be made an annual event. Children from various schools would be shown a movie every year and during the children’s film festival. It was also stated that from coming years, Children’s film festival Chandigarh would be held in the month of January.
