The First CNG Station of Chandigarh Region Comes to Mohali

After much talk about CNG gas stations coming to Chandigarh, we have finally got a news that a CNG station is finally coming in the region and it is all set to be inaugurated on 11th of November, 2016. Mohali will be the first city of Punjab and the Chandigarh region to get a CNG station.

It will be coming at the Indian Oil Petrol Pump in Sector 56.

Why CNG?

CNG, technically stands for Compressed Natural Gas. It is a gaseous fuel that is eco-friendly and made from bio-degradable sources. So, it’s something that’s very easy for digestion of environment. CNG not only is the need of the hour seeing the increasing harmful pollution levels but is also a solution to the increasing respiratory problems. It surely is needed to get the city back to its status of being the greenest, cleanest and happiest city.

Mohali Is First In The Region:

Mohali will be the first one to have CNG stations in Punjab. In an approval from the government, there were 6 CNG stations that had to come up in Chandigarh & Mohali combined. In Mohali area, the first CNG pump will be setup at Sector-56 Indian Oil Petrol Pump. The CNG fueling  was introduced first in Delhi which was quite successful. Now, the Government wants this for every place possible.

As per the proposal, 4 CNG stations were previously proposed for Chandigarh which are not functional yet & 2 were for Mohali. Out of these all, Mohali will be the first one in the whole of Punjab & Chandigarh.

When Is The Opening Ceremony:

This first CNG station will be opening on November 11 at Indian Oil Petrol Pump, Sector-56. This station will be inaugurated by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. This function will also be attended by Union Minister for Petroleum Dharmendra Pradhan.

All Set To Be The Pioneer:

Mohali & Chandigarh are both excited about getting the first CNG station which is expected to bring even more harmony between the environment of the city & its people. After this step, Mohali will be the first city in Punjab to enter the premiere league of cities of its kind. It will hopefully prove to be a great step in this region.
