Delhi Development Authority (DDA) Housing Scheme 2017

Delhi development authority launched the much awaited annual housing scheme DDA Awasiya Yojana 2017 today on June 30. The scheme is linked to ‘credit linked subsidy scheme’ under ‘Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana’ housing for all (urban) under which buyers can avail subsidies by the central government. This subsidy will be provided on the interest rate on loans taken by the prospective buyers.
Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Anil Baijal, who is also the Chairman of DDA and Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu launched the scheme today.

This project was initially scheduled for feburary 2017 but got delayed due to demonetisation and furthur was expected to be launched in mid-June but got delayed due to constraints such as inadequate infrastructure, connecting roads, transportation system and various other reasons. Of the estimated 12,000 flats, 10,000 flats were previously rejected in 2014 due to insufficient area of the one BHK flats offered.

A significant change brought in this year’s scheme is the removal of EWS flats. The four types of housing offered is LIG, MIG, HIG and Janta.

Points as to eligibility

1. The applicant must be 18 years or above and a deemed citizen of india.
2. The applicant must not own any registered residential flat or any concrete home in delhi under his/her own or spouse’s/children’s name.
3. Only one application per applicant is permissable.
4. Both husband and wife can fill seperate forms but only one will be alloted if both win in the draw.

Application and Allotment Process

Approximately 12,000 flats are constructed and to be delivered under the 2017 scheme. For this purpose, both online and offline (physical) submission of application forms is offered. Prospectus will be available for manual applications for Rs 150-200 from DDA sales counter at vikas sadan in the capital after 4pm.

Online filling of application forms and registrations has been started from today 30 June 2017. The last date for submitting forms online and offline is 11 August 2017. Refer to the DDA official website at www.dda.org.in for online application.For offline procedure, applications are available at Vikas Sadan in New Delhi. Also, as many as 10 banks have been appointed for providing application forms to the public. Here’s the list-
Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, Canara Bank, Central Bank, HDFC, IDBI Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, SBI and Yes Bank.
These banks in Delhi will provide forms till August 9.

Like every year, the houses will be allotted on a computerized Draw basis by an independent agency and in the presence of an independent judge.

Location of Flats

Most of the flats are mainly located in the regions of Dwarka, Jasola, Narela, Rohini and Vasant Kunj areas. Other places include Siraspur, Pitampura, Paschim Vihar, Jahangirpuri, Sukhdev Vihar, Sarita Vihar, Loknayakpuram, Mukherjee Nagar, Kondli Gharoli and Kalyan Vihar.

As per DDA’s earlier statement and past year records, these flats will range anywhere between Rs 14.95 lakh to as much as Rs 1.40 crore.

Points to be kept in mind

1. Pre-Inspection of flats is permitted upon request.
2. There is one month time for completing all formalities.
3. DDA lucky draw in expected to be in the first week of july/august, the possession of which will be handed over in october 2017.
4. PAN card is necessary as identification proof.
5. From 30 June 2017 to 11 August 2017.

To curb market speculation, the DDA has proposed multi-tiered penal measures. “If a prospective buyer surrenders his application before the date of draws, no money will be deducted from his or her registration fee. If a buyer does so after the draw but before the issue of a demand letter, 25 per cent of the registration fee will be forfeited” reported a DDA official.
