Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Launches Online RTI Portal Where Anyone can File an RTI Easily

Scheduled to be launched in the month of April last year in 2016 the Right to Information E Portal is finally here. The Aam Aadmi Party founder Arvind Kejriwal is all braced up to finally launch the Right to Information or RTI portal today in Delhi. The launch of the new RTI portal will add yet another feather in the cap of Delhi Government’s line of online portals serving for the betterment of the citizens. With this new portal people will be able to register their complaints and queries regarding any issue in a quick way.

New RTI Portal: Know-Hows

Delhi’s Administrative Reforms Department started working towards the establishment of the Right to Information portal in the year 2014. The central government is going to start accepting applications of the citizens of the capital for almost 172 government departments and public administrations under the latest RTI portal. The users of the new RTI portal will be able to:

  • File queries & requests
  • Pay fees for the applications through the inbuilt net-banking system
  • File for the first appeal
  • Pay charges for additional documents
  • Get Email & SMS services to check the status of the application
  • Payment through Debit & Credit cards will also be started later on
  • The portal will have two language options-Hindi & English

The New RTI Portal: An Effective Step 

Delhi Government’s new RTI portal will make the working of all the public departments and government authorities more transparent and accountable. Common people will now have a powerful tool at their fingertips to get all of their queries answered quickly and effectively. Almost 2.74 lac queries has been already registered at the RTI portal a day before its launch from Sunday evening out of what 2.70 lac have already been taken care of.

Right almost 4 UTs and 25 states are maintaining the Right to Information online portals of their own in India. Being quite user friendly the RTI portals are of a great benefit to the people as it gives information of all the important government and public departments whose functioning and methods always remain aloof from the eyes of the common people.

Started with the belief to benefit and uplift the common man of India the Aam Aadmi Party has done many reforms in the capital state of Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal and his team even after facing a lot of opposition did not choose to look back and kept working on what was the need of the hour and the people.
