Diljit Dosanjh Initially Said No to Soorma But Here’s What Made Him Say Yes

Diljit Dosanjh has been breaking records with his UK Confidential tour & is all set to portray a sports-based character in the movie Soorma for the first time. Although earlier the star has refused to be a part of the hockey-based movie Soorma. Diljit Dosanjh himself has confessed that earlier he did not want to be apart of the movie Soorma.

Udta Punjab actor Diljit Dosanjh will be portraying the role of former Hockey Captain Sandeep Singh in Soorma. Punjabi singer cum actor, Diljit has always won his fans hearts with his performance on stage as well as the silver screen.

Diljit Dosanjh Refused to be a part of Soorma movie, but something went in favor

Diljit Dosanjh himself revealed that in the starting of the movie, he refused to do the film Soorma. After the producers approached him for the role, Diljit refused to do it 2-3 times. And finally, he thought that they are big people & he should visit their office to talk to them personally otherwise it will leave a negative impact of him. After visiting their office, Diljit said ‘Brother you can make me do any film, but not on hockey’. Till then Diljit only knew that a hockey-based movie has been made for which he was approached.

Even Diljit offered to do next film for free, but the producers insisted him to listen up the concept & story. After listening to the story, the actor came to know that the movie is on Sandeep Singh & hockey is just a part of it. Then he decided to focus on the character of Sandeep Singh for Soorma & to teach him hockey will be their tension.

Bollywood movie Soorma is a biopic of former Indian Hockey Captain Sandeep Singh. And the character of Sandeep Singh will be portrayed by Diljit Dosanjh on the silver screen. The story of the movie will showcase the hardship & struggle of Sandeep Singh in his real life. Along with Diljit Dosanjh, the movie will also feature Pink star Taapsee Pannu as Harmeet.

Directed by Shaad Ali, Soorma is all set to hit theatres on 13 July 2018.
