The Incident in Panchkula
Things heated up when two youths at the same party in the Panchkula resort started misbehaving with the women. The cousin Munish who accompanied the women in the party intervened and got into an argument with the two men. The two men then left the Panchkula party after much arguing. The party got over around midnight and the same two men intercepted the group at the gate. They have accompanied by a dozen other men according to Munish. The two men were on A Bajaj Pulsar bike and said they belonged to the Bapu Dham Colony in Chandigarh. The men forced the group out of the car outside the Panchkula resort and slapped one of the four girls. Another 15-year-old cousin was beaten up too. Munish requested them to leave the matter and get aside they did not budge. When this did not seem enough one of the men took out a pistol and started firing at them at the gate of the Panchkula resort. Fortunately, none of the people were harmed. Munish claims the fire was shot directly at them but thankfully none could hit the group.
Extending the horror for the Mohali resident group, the women and their cousins were shocked to see police coming unusually late at the crime spot in Panchkula. They claim that the police have been incompetent in doing their duty. Even when the police had arrived they were parked just outside the gate of the Panchkula resort at the crime spot. When the women told the horrific incident to the police, they weren’t of much help and asked them to go to the nearest police station in Panchkula to file a complaint. Police have recovered cartridges from the crime scene at the Panchkula Sector 23 resort and there are also bullet marks on the victim car’s windshield.
