Fukrey Returns finally hit the theatres on Friday and the makers did not have to wait long to find out how it is doing. Well, the Excel Entertainment film has already earned 8.10 Crore Rupees at the Box Office on day 1 and we expect the charm to continue for a while. The second film in the franchise, Fukrey Returns by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba stars Pulkit Samrat, Ali Faizal, Manjot Singh and Varun Sharma in lead roles.
Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, Fukrey Returns was already anticipated to have a huge opening at the box office.
Fukrey Returns: Movie Review
Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s Fukrey Returns is the second film in the franchise and is a sequel to the 2013 Bollywood film Fukrey. The box office results are proof that the film was highly anticipated by the Indian audiences. Ali Faizal, Manjot Singh, Richa Chadhha and Varun Sharma are the highlight of the cast and give mature performances.
Director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba decided to have Pulkit Samrat do much of the talking in the film and better and reliable actors like Manjot Singh and Ali Faizal are hardly used and have little to do. Forming the centre of the premise of Box Office’s current favourite Fukrey Returns are Varun Sharma as Choocha and Bholi Punjaban played by Richa Chadha who never fail to impress and play their roles to perfection.
Pankaj Tripathi is one of the best things that the movie has and lights up each frame he is in. His desire to come up with English words tickles the funny bone and he also has the funniest dialogues in Fukrey Returns. Coming to the plot, it is the weakest link in the otherwise Box Office success movie and though the movie is relying on the gags and not story, the gags feel underwritten too. Fukrey Returns prequel had moments of a genuine laugh but here everything feels forced with a few good liners far and between.
Fukrey Returns: Box Office Collection
Fukrey Returns by Mrighdep Singh Lamba, is ringing the cash register for the producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. The film has already earned 8.10 crore Rupees on opening day and will do strong for the entire week since the release date of Padmavati has been delayed and the film virtually has no fresh competition. Box Office expert Taran Adarsh expects Fukrey Returns to do a business of approximately 40 crore Rupees.
