GATE Exam 2019 | Scholarship For Post Graduate Programmes

Institutes directly under Central Government or MHRD provide scholarships to candidates via GATE exam. GATE 2019 would be the minimum criteria for them to obtain such a financial assistance for their higher education. Candidate must also first secure admission into a given technical institute to apply for the scholarship via GATE 2019. The criteria for offering scholarship differs from institute to institute.

Some institutes select candidates purely on the basis of the score obtained in GATE Exam 2019. Others may also use GATE score as a qualifying criteria supplemented by an interview or test. As per the guidelines of Ministry of Human Resource & Development, a minimum weightage of 70% needs to be given to GATE score. Admitting institute on the basis of GATE 2019 can also set minimum passing marks for the test or interview on the candidate.

Although, the reservation of seats for various categories remains the same. Institutes have the discretion to decide a fixed number of GATE qualified candidates who would get the grant. Also, GATE 2019 would serve as the minimum criteria for various other fellowships awarded by the government to students.
