After 5 Days of Marriage, Girl Drugs Husband, Steals Cash, Jewellery & Runs Away

In a shocking incident that has numbed the Chandigarh tricity region is newly wedded couple’s wedding that ending in a case of theft in the region. In a wedding that happened 5-days ago wherein Deepak and Ranjita tied a knot in a ceremonial event, the bride Ranjita fled away with cash, jewellery and other valuables worth lacs of rupees on Tuesday late night after adding sedative substances to her husband’s lemonade.

About the Incident

The incident came to light when the victim’s mother and sister who were sleeping in an altogether different floor found the room ransacked and Ranjita missing. Ranjita on Tuesday night, offered a lemonade to her husband adulterated with sedatives in it.

Deepak under the effect of the intoxication dozed off to a state of unconsciousness and finally woke up to see the entire room topsy-turvy. On figuring out, he found out that 100 gm jewellery, a sum of INR 1 lakh and a suitcase was missing from his room apart from broken almirahs.

Speculations about the theft

Each person involved directly or indirectly have their own viewpoints and nothing substantial could be concluded out of the same. Here’s what speculations about the incident are:

  • Deepak fears that Ranjita was having an affair
  • Ranjita told Deepak on the wedding day about she being forced by her parents for the marriage
  • Ranjita’s father claims Deepak killed his wife
  • Ranjita’s family had put Dowry allegations on Deepak & forced her to flee

Wedding – A nightmare for the groom

The wedding ceremony turned into a nightmare after 5 days when the wedded wife turned into a thief and ran away with the valuables. Deepak, a resident of Derabassi married Ranjita belonging to Birghagger village of Panchkula. The man claims that the wife got nothing in the form of jewellery or valuables from her family.

Deepak even claims that Ranjita was not happy with the marriage and told him that she was forced by her parents to undertake the step, which resulted in a tragic incident like this.

Police officials mark Ranjita’s father’s claims as vague and have registered a case against the newly wedded bride under Indian Penal Code. The case has been filed under Section (379) for theft, Section (120-B) for criminal conspiracy and Section (328) for causing hurt by means of poison against Ranjita and is on a hunt to trace her. Investigations are on and officials are striving hard to provide justice to the victim’s family.
