10-Year-Old’s Rape Case Chandigarh | Uncle’s DNA Test Does not Match the Child

The 10-year old rape victim’s case who had delivered a baby girl in Chandigarh last month has taken a dramatic twist. According to reports, the accused uncle is not the father of victim’s child. The rape case of the 10-year old girl caught international attention when she was 30-months pregnant. The case came to light and shocked everyone across the globe.

The report mentions that as per the Forensic report, accused uncle is not the father of the new born.

This is the Chandigarh Rape case (10 year Old Girl)

The case came to light when a district court in Chandigarh turned down the abortion plea of the 10-year-old rape survivor. The case left medical experts dumbfounded as all the experts were looking for explanations as it was one of the rarest cases of pregnancy at such a tender age.

Victim’s parents had approached the Chandigarh district court for permission to terminate the pregnancy but the court had dismissed the plea.

It was after a PIL that the Supreme Court asked an expert team of doctors in PGIMER (Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research) Chandigarh to examine the 10-year-old rape survivor to ascertain if it was possible to terminate the 30-week-old pregnancy.

Under the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, termination of a 20-week old foetus is allowed by the courts.

Who is the accused?

The girl was allegedly raped by her maternal uncle over seven months. The victim’s parents got to know of her pregnancy when they took her to a doctor after she complained stomachache.

The accused, girls maternal uncle was arrested by the Police on the complaint of the victim’s mother. The victim, 10-year old, too had identified the accused in the court.

Stunning twist in the shocking case

After more than 50 days since the accused maternal uncle of the 10-year old who is a resident of Sector 37, Chandigarh was booked for rape of his 10-year-old niece, and arrested by the police the forensic report that suggests that he has not fathered the newborn baby girl of the 10-year old victim has added a shocking fact in the 10-year old’s rape case.

As stated by the Central Forensic Science Laboratory’s (CFSL), the DNA report has come negative. The newborn’s DNA didn’t match with the accused.

The 10-year old gave birth to a baby girl last month. The Chandigarh administration was recently directed by the apex court to give family Rs 1 lakh as interim relief.
