WBR that is World Book of Records, the London based organization that focuses on maintaining and cataloging the world records has awarded the title of ‘Most visited place in the World’ to the famous Golden Temple. This holy Shrine has recorded quite an uplift after the successful Heritage street project carried out by the Amritsar department. According to the records, Lakhs of devotees visit the Holy Golden Temple every day. This is what has pushed Golden Temple to the list of Most visited place in the World.
Golden Temple is a home to the holy shrine and has an important religious significance among the Sikhs. This is one of the prominent destination in Amritsar to visit and has been prestigious Jewel of Amritsar. Golden Temple is a Crown of Amritsar that brings the folds of divinity and peace to the city and is visited by Lakhs of people every day.
Golden Temple Wins the Title of ‘Most Visited Place in the World’ by WBR
SGPC chief secretary was awarded this title on 24th November 2017 after the famous Mount Abu, Shirdi Sai Baba and Vaishno Devi. Although there are no particular criteria for choosing the winner of this title, still the title is awarded seeing the growth in the number of visitors to a particular destination. It is one of the proud moment for India to get Golden Temple in the WBR that is World book of records for being the most visited place in the world.
According to the sources and media reports, the number of visitors increased significantly after the Live telecast of the Gurbani Kirtan was telecast on the TV. Also, the Heritage street project carried by the tourism department of the Amritsar has brought quite an attention to Golden Temple, Amritsar.
WBR, World Book of Records has entitled Golden Temple, Amritsar as one of the most visited places in the world noticing the growth in the number of daily visitors. The daily visitor list has now crossed Lakhs of people and is still frequently and consistently increasing every day. When asked, WBR had no significant criteria of choosing the place for the title rather than going with the increase in the number of visitors daily.
