Haryana’s CM Announces Pension Scheme For Journalists

In an attempt to seek the favour of the journalists of the state of Haryana, the CM of the state Manohar Lal Khattar has promised a pension plan for the media persons at the huge “Swarna Jayanti Journalists Meet” in Panchkula held in the Indradhanush Auditorium. Upon hearing the CM’s new pension plan the journalists are in awe and feel that the bringing up of a pension plan for them sounds really vague.

Haryana CMs Pension Scheme For State Journalists

According to the Haryana’s CM the eligibility criteria for the pension plan for a media person is an average age of 60 years and an extensive experience of 20 years.

  • The pension will be set at Rs 10,000 per month
  • Apart from that an insurance of Rs 10 lakh and 20 lakh will also be given
  • whose half of the premium will be given by the govt. & rest by the journalist himself
  • and concluding that the CM also offered a Rs 5 lakh mediclaim
  • the reporters who have completed five years in the profession will be given acclamation
  • Accreditation will also be given to the sub-divisional representative of online news portals

The CM M L Khattar also advised media persons to avoid “Yellow Journalism” and spread the right and useful news in the society for its future welfare at the “Journalist Meet”. A committee will also be formed to suggest measures regarding the new scheme.

Haryana Governments Other New Pension Schemes

It is not the first time that the Haryana Government has come up with completely new pension policies. The Chief Minister of Haryana has done so many new changes to the old plans of the state and has even brought up some new ones as well.

Recently the Haryana CM rolled out a very new pension scheme in the state for the men who have lost their wives. The state became the first ever state in India to pay pension to not only the widows but the widowers as well.

Apart from that the Haryana Govt. has also made provisions to deliver the monthly pensions to seniors and disables or divyangs at their doorsteps for their convenience.

Anyhow, as far as we can see the Haryana is making quite a progress in the administrative works and pension schemes under the CM ML Khattar’s government. If the state really starts the journalist pension scheme in upcoming months or years then it would really prove to be a big tide turner.
