Speeding Truck Claims Life Of Bride-To-Be On Chandigarh Airport Road

A speeding truck claimed the life of a 25-year old woman on the Chandigarh Airport Road. It was reported that the victim waited for help for approximately 45  minutes on the road before succumbing to her injuries. Her friend, who was travelling with her, received severe injuries and was rushed to PGI (Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research) Sector 12, Chandigarh, where she is under treatment.

Cries went in vain

According to the family, after being hit on Chandigarh’s Airport Road by a speeding truck the victim waited for 45 minutes for help on the road. The victim has been identified as Amandeep Kaur who was a Corporate worker and had recently switched her job.

Amandeep Kaur who died in the fatal accident on the Chandigarh Airport Road kept screaming for help but all her efforts went in vain on the busy airport road. According to reports a tipper rider hit her scooter and fled the spot. Amandeep Kaur was on her way to the hospital when she succumbed to her injuries.

She was dying and passerby’s were taking pictures

On her way to the hospital, Amandeep Kaur told her uncle in the ambulance that after being hit by the truck she was helpless to get up. She even told her uncle that some passersby took her photos and left the spot instead of helping her.

Amandeep Kaur was on the way to her office when she was hit by the truck at around 9am. The truck after hitting Amandeep’s scooter dragged on for a few metres. It was shocking for the relative when Aman told him on the way to the hospital that a passerby took a photo of the accident spot and left the place instead of assisting her.

 Last words of the bride-to-be

‘I want to talk to my father, please call him’, were the last words of the bride-to-be Amandeep Kaur who died on the Chandigarh Airport Road after a truck hit her two wheeler from the backside. According to report, Amandeep Kaur was taken to a hospital in Sector 32 where she succumbed to her injuries.

Amandeep’s friend, who was travelling with her when the accident happened, received serious injuries in the accident. She is being treated at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Sector – 12, Chandigarh.

On her way to her Mohali office, Amandeep Kaur picked up her colleague Sofiya, but, as luck would have it, they never reached the office. According to the report, a rashly driven tipper hit their scooter from behind in which the lower part of Amandeep’s body was crushed completely.

Was to get married in November

Amandeep Kaur had got engaged on April 27 and was to be married on November 13. The family had just finalised all the wedding bookings but never knew that the tragic incident would change their lives forever.

Though the driver of the truck is absconding, but, a case has been filed by the police under sections pertaining to ‘rash driving’, ‘mischief causing damage’, ‘causing grievous hurt’ and ‘causing death by negligence’ under the IPC.
