Honeypreet Insan’s Anticipatory Bail Petition Rejected in The Delhi High Court

Honeypreet Insan’s lawyer had approached the Delhi High Court seeking transit anticipatory bail for Honeypreet and according to reports the bail plea of Honeypreet has been rejected. Honeypreet Insan (Priyanka Taneja) has been on the run since August 25 and instead of going to Punjab and Haryana High Court, she approached Delhi High Court for her bail. However, the court said that she is just wasting time. Moreover, Honeypreet also gave a fake address of Delhi in the bail application which was questioned by the court.

Honeypreet Insan was last seen on August 25 and she went missing following the conviction of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Dera Sacha Sauda chief in two 15-year old rape cases.

Transit anticipatory bail filed for Honeypreet Insan

Honeypreet Insan alias Priyanka Taneja, the adopted daughter of the jailed Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is in the ‘wanted’ list of the Haryana Police. Honeypreet tops the ‘wanted’ list that was recently released by Haryana Police. Haryana Police had released a list of 43 persons ‘Wanted’ in connection with violence and other similar incidents that happened on August 25 in Panchkula following Ram Rahim Singh’s conviction in the rape cases by the special CBI court.

Recently, the police have also circulated lookout notice against Honeypreet by the police. Following the lookout notice, and raids that were carried out in different parts of the country, Honeypreet Insan’s lawyer declared that an anticipatory bail petition has been filed for Honeypreet Insan in the Delhi High Court.

Honeypreet was last seen with Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh on August 25 after he was convicted by the special CBI court in Panchkula. Honeypreet, the adopted daughter of Dera Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim had accompanied him when the latter had to appear in the special CBI court in Panchkula on August 25.

Here’s when Honeypreet caught the public eye

Honeypreet Insan came to the limelight after she travelled along with the Dera Chief to Rohtak from Panchkula after the conviction in the 15-year old rape cases. Honeypreet caught the public eye when she travelled in the special chopper which ferried Ram Rahim, the rape convict and Honeypreet Insan to the Jail in Rohtak from Panchkula after his conviction.

Honeypreet Insan topped the list of ‘Wanted’ persons released by the Haryana Police for her involvement in the violence and arson that erupted in Panchkula, Sirsa and other districts of Haryana following the conviction of Gurmeet Ram Rahim in the rape case which had left 41 people dead, several injured and loss of property.

Following the conviction, the CBI court had sentenced Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh to 20 years in prison on August 28 for raping two of his disciples in 2002.
