Chandigarh is on the verge of becoming a smart city and the authorities are leaving no stone unturned to make the tricity spick and span. Where on one hand, the administration is focusing on providing A-class amenities to its citizen, on the other hand, many out stationed real estate players are getting attracted to the tricity’s development work and start their own new business.
The main attraction near Chandigarh airport
With the fast increasing flight services from Chandigarh to domestic and international destinations, the nearby airport area in Mohali is letting out spaces to various small and premium hotels. The Chandigarh International Airpot by far has attracted over 10 interested parties who want to set up their hotels in the vicinity.
Not only this, the interested lot has already applied for the change of land use (CLU) for setting up their hotels near to the airport. Also, the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) office is receiving a great number of queries regarding the same.
As published in The Tribune, Varun Roojam, Chief Administrator, GMADA confirmed application by 10 parties for the hotel construction near International Airport, Chandigarh. In fact, an international hotel chain has started constructing its 5-star hotel in Phase IX, Industrial Area of Mohali and a new hotel will be soon opened in sector 67.
Other than hotels
Apart from hotels, real estate is estimated to get a boom near the airport as many queries to build studio apartments are also received at GMADA office. GMADA’s Aero city and IT city is almost completed with the total expenditure of Rs 300 crore and Rs 375 crore, respectively. While rest of the work will be culminated by this year.
Also, two flyovers are being constructed to manage traffic heading towards the airport while high-intensity LED lights are being installed across the airport road starting from Airport Chowk to the airport entry point.
