HRTC Delhi Leh Bus Service Kicks Off – Time, Route, Fare & Other Details

Planning for a road trip to Leh in J&K this summer season? Well, HRTC has kicked off its bus services from Delhi- Leh again. Here come the summer season and people are planning to have vacations in hilly areas. Well, the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has started off with its Delhi-Leh bus service from today again until October this year.

The Delhi- Leh bus services came to a halt last year in September due to the snowfall in the Himachal Pradesh and J&K area. Now, when the Manali- Leh roads are cleared up by the Border Roads Organization, the Lahaul- Spiti district administration in Himachal Pradesh has allowed the HTRC to start off with their bus services again this year.

With a flag off at Keylong, Himachal Pradesh, the bus services between Delhi and Leh resumed back from today. Now tourists can enjoy the road journey from Delhi to Leh of 1045 km over four mountain passes that can be covered in 30 hours with an overnight halt. The route which remains snow-covered for almost nine months in a year from October to June will be operational for motorable vehicles.

Time table for HRTC buses from Delhi to Leh

The HRTC Delhi-Leh bus services will begin at 2:30 pm from Delhi and will touch Chandigarh ISBT in Sector 43 at 8:30 pm. It will then move towards Kullu and will reach at 5:30 am, further at 1 pm the bus will be in Keylong for an overnight halt. The next day, the bus will start at 5 am from Keylong and will reach Leh at 7 pm.

While coming back from Leh to Delhi, the HRTC bus will start at 5 am for Keylong and will reach there at 7 pm for an overnight stay. Next day, the HRTC bus will again start at 6:30 am and will reach Delhi the next morning at 4 am.

HRTC Bus fare, route and lodging details between Delhi and Leh

The HRTC Delhi- Leh bus services will cross Punjab, Haryana, the four mountain passes of Himachal Pradesh and will then enter Jammu and Kashmir. The four famous high altitude mountain passes that will come on the Delhi- Leh route include Rohtang Pass at 13,050 ft, Baralacha Pass at 16,020 ft, Lachungla Pass at 16,620 ft and Tanglangla Pass at 17,480 ft. The fare that HRTC is charging for Delhi- Leh bus journey is Rs 1380.

Not only this, from July 1, the HP Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) Deluxe bus for Leh from Manali will also be launched for tourists. This deluxe bus will be a 35 seater bus with the facility of booking tickets online. The ticket fare for this deluxe bus between Manali and Leh will be Rs 2900 including lodging and food during the overnight layover at Keylong.
