The second largest car manufacturer in India, Hyundai Motor is all set to unveil some of its most awaited car models at the upcoming Auto Expo which is likely to happen next month. The auto show will witness participation of several car manufacturers who will showcase several concepts as well as new cars at the event.
Here is the list of the cars that the carmaker will be showcasing and later launching this year. According to the report, Hyundai is expected to reveal two new hatchbacks in India this year– the all-new Santro and the i20 Elite facelift. It has been reported earlier that both the models have been spotted testing in India recently and both the cars are most likely to be launched in the affordable hatchback segment.
Hyundai to unveil the all-new Santro
The new Hyundai Santro is one of the much-awaited cars in the country from the automaker Hyundai. The carmaker is planning to re-launch one of its best sellers again in India this year. It has been reported that the all-new Santro will be placed between the Hyundai Eon and the Hyundai i10 and will be priced between the two models for more competition for the competitors.
In terms of pricing, the all-new Santro is expected to compete against the Tata Tiago post-launch in India. The new Hyundai Santro will come in both petrol and diesel variants mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. There is a chance that the automaker might introduce an AMT option as well in the increasing competition. It is being speculated that the car may get the tall-boy design, similar to the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R. It is worth mentioning here that Hyundai launched the original tall-boy design model of Santro in India in the late 90s.
Hyundai’s all-new Elite i20
Hyundai’s premium hatchback, Elite i20 will is the first car in the lineup which is most likely to get a facelift this year. Since the launch of Hyundai’s premium hatchback, it has not received any major change in the appearance.
According to the report, there will be no mechanical changes in the facelifted car. In fact, the premium hatchback from Hyundai will continue with the existing petrol and diesel engines. The car will get major changes in the facet and rear styling. The car will also several features inside the cabin. It is has been reported that the automaker might introduce a 4-speed automatic gearbox in the Elite i20 facelift. The 1.4-liter petrol engine will churn out 99 Bhp-130 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the entry-level variants of the model will come with 1.2-liter petrol engine.
In addition to these upcoming hatchbacks, the automaker is also planning to launch the new Hyundai Creta facelift this year. It is expected that the automaker might launch the cars with similar pricing with a minimal price variation.
