Hyundai Santro was the most popular car that the Korean company sold in India and the name palte is coming back sooner than you think. If the reports are to be believed then the car will be showcased at the Auto Expo next week as a concept along some other cars from the company. Hyundai Santro name will be back in the Indian car market and become the segment leader of the affordable hatchbacks again. The car is codenamed AH2 and will site between the Eon and the i10 Grand. Hyundai had discontinued the Santro hoping the customers will warm up to the EON which was new in the market back then. The car is rumoured to come with Petrol and a dual fuel option of Petrol+CNG which will make it the first car to do so in the Indian car market. The car will feature the same tall boy design that the previous generation was famous for and people missed in the EON. The Santro will also be reportedly the first Hyundai car to feature an AMT gearbox thus giving the urban customer an ease of driving in city traffic.

The car will compete with the likes of Tata Tiago which has established itself as the clear choice of the urban customer in the country.

Eon will continue to rival the Renault KWID and the Maruti Suzuki Alto at the lower end of the segment, however the price of the lower variants of the Santro might lure in the customer looking at top end models like the Alto Vxi.
