The mains exam consists of five sections that include Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude, Quantitative Aptitude,  English Language and General Awareness. Though every section of the IBPS Clerk CWE is equally important, the reasoning and quantitative aptitude are to be especially kept in mind, since these topics need more discretion and demand more time than the other sections. Let us discuss the topics that carry more weight in the numerical aptitude and reasoning section.

Depending on the frequency of the questions asked in the two specified sections, we have curated a list of the very important set of topics to be kept in mind to crack IBPS Clerk common written test.

NUMERICAL ABILITY

  • Numerical problems that include problems on missing numbers, series completion etc.

Preparations:

To prepare for numerical ability, one needs to first reread the concepts as well as the questions related to them again and again so that they understand the exact problem that they are about to solve. Also, one needs to keep in mind that understanding concepts is far more important than cramming up tricks for the same concept.

Also, for excelling in the numeric ability, one must master the BODMAS rule which means Brackets, Order, Divide, Multiply, Add, Subtract since it is the only way to get the right answers and practice as many problems implementing the rule as possible.

Try and use common sense to solve questions that are real-life oriented since there occur many instances where one applies too many tricks while answer stays in the basic logic. This can happen in problems like those including distance, age, time etc.

Learn the tricks to solve the questions faster in your mind since there are no electronic devices allowed to help you in calculation during the examination.

Time management is the greatest issue while solving mathematical problems. There are times when the aspirants know the right solution to a particular problem but cannot solve it in the given time. This is something that is particularly to be worked upon.

The above pointers tell us the importance of practice in the preparation of IBPS clerical examination. You need to practice as many model papers & previous year question papers in a particular frame of time so that you do not exceed your time while solving your mathematical problems.

Candidates who feel that they are weak in numerical ability can take help from the various reference and preparation books and also can attempt as many mock tests available online as possible.
