IGNOU 2018-19: Indira Gandhi National Open University B.Tech course has got approval from All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) for session 2009-10. For 2009 onwards, B.Tech batch candidates of IGNOU will get AICTE approved degree. Supreme court banned the B.Tech degree approval for distance education in the month of July only.

IGNOU 2018-19: B.Tech Students to now get degree affiliated by AICTE
Indira Gandhi National Open University gets a grant from AICTE for B.Tech degree courses. A few months ago only, Supreme court ordered to stop enrolment for B.Tech and M.Tech course in the distance learning due to the lack of quality education. Following the order of the SupremeCourt, AICTE disapproved the IGNOU B.Tech degree and now once again have given approval for the same. Almost 3000 candidates have gained IGNOU’s B.Tech degree but the candidature was in danger after the disapproval.
But from now onwards, B.Tech candidates of IGNOU will get AICTE approved degree. As after the judgment of the Supreme Court, IGNOU student association asked clarification from the Council and after months of delay finally, Council reverted that 2009-10 B.Tech degree will be valid and not be taken a precedent.

Whereas furthermore, B.Tech aspirants from IGNOU can now fill up the admission form for the new session 2019 onwards on the official website. IGNOU has been ongoing with the admission and re-registration procedure for Janaury 2019 and has even launched multiple new courses for students. Interested candidates can go through the official website ignou.ac.in and register themselves for the January 2018 session admission.
