The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has commenced admission to its Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP) 2018 online via common service centre (CSC). This is the first time in India that any educational institute has adopted and used the online method of CSC network for the admission of its students apply for the BPP course. The session for the IGNOU BPP course will begin from January next year and the University has invited application for the same.
IGNOU is India’s one of the prestigious universities with the largest number of students across the country and overseas. IGNOU offers both degree and certificate course for the distant learning students. There are various educational and vocational courses that one can pursue at IGNOU from any part of India. IGNOU was the first educational institute in India who gave transgenders and jail prisoners a chance to complete their education and empower them professionally.
What is IGNOU’s BPP course
The Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP) 2018 is a qualifying course for those candidates who by any means who do hold the highly required 10+2 qualifications. In such a case, IGNOU will provide a BPP course followed by its certificate stating that the particular student qualifies for his/ her further higher education. The course of BPP has been introduced and curated to bridge the gap in which a candidate is unable to hold a prior formal qualification of 10+2, which is essential for any further studies or job.
Who all can do BPP course by IGNOU
IGNOU calls BPP as a non-formal qualification to make any candidate eligible to pursue further degree including the bachelor of commerce (BCom), bachelor in arts (B.A), bachelor in tourism studies and bachelor in social work of the university. The BPP course by IGNOU is a six months course and can be completed in maximum two years of time. Anyone who wishes to pursue any of these above-mentioned degree courses can apply for IGNOU’s BPP certificate course.
The BPP course by IGNOU will be available in regional languages including English, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Oriya, Gujarati and Malayalam. By far IGNOU has invited application of students for 136 programmes via online mode of CSC network while application process for 11 programmes at IGNOU has been carried away via the offline method.
