Ignou is relocating its regional centers to help students

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)  has come up with a new plan for its students. University has set up a committee to plan relocation of its regional centres across the country. Relocation would provide ease to University students. Presently, IGNOU has 3000 learning centres and 56 regional centres across the country.

IGNOU has thought to move its traditional approach of placing regional centres in each state to the strategical placement of its existing 56 centres across the country. IGNOU has decided not to replace 9 regional centres in the northeast area and replace rest of the centres in the southern and northern parts of the country. IGNOU has also planned to come up with the new regional centre in Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. The committee is working on strategic placement of its 56 regional centres across the country and the work is expected to complete in the time frame of one year.

To reduce the connectivity issues faced by students, IGNOU is revamping and relocating its regional centres logistically and logically across the country. The new plan would help students with convincing of its regional centres. IGNOU gets 10 percent of its candidates from entire South India including Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.  Not only IGNOU also receives candidates applications for various courses for Northeastern states as well.  IGNOU receives 10% of total applications from western regions and maximum i.e. up to 40-45% of total enrollments in an academic year from northern India. Thus IGNOU has planned to have strategically located test centres across the country.

The whole process of rationalizing the test centres of IGNOU would take around one year and candidates would get rid of connectivity issues faced in reaching these regional and learning centres. The company has set up the new committee which is headed by Kapil Kumar to overlook the whole process of reallocation of its regional and learning centres.

IGNOU New Regional Centre

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has decided to come up with a new regional centre in Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh for convince of students planning to study at regional and training centres of the IGNOU. The final approval of state government is still pending. IGNOU has planned to relocate its regional and learning centres across the country so as to attract more candidates to Opt. for various courses offered by the University.

IGNOU is one of the prestigious universities of India; offering both undergraduate and post graduate courses along with other certificate and vocational courses. IGNOU has over 34, 99, 999 students enrolled in its 56 regional and 3000 learning centres across the country. IGNOU is a distance learning educational Institute that is by far one of the liberal universities offering admissions to transgenders.
