IIM Planning to increase Number of Seats Upto 13,216 in the year 2019 | Know More Details

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) has been planning to increase the number of seats and boost infrastructure in the campus from 2019 onwards. Recently 2 of the IIMs have written it to the centre and asked to increase the number of seats form the upcoming year 2019. Although the Indian Institute of Management will start the admission process after the declaration of CAT result 2018.

Before the beginning of the admission process for the year 2019, IIM is about to amend few changes in the Institute. Check out the new amendments to be made by IIMs ahead of admission 2019 and much more details below.

IIM Ahmedabad & Bengaluru Planning to add 800 seats from 2019

Indian Insititute of Management, Ahmedabad and Bengaluru have proposed to increase the number of seats in the institute in 2019. According to the proposal, IIM A & B has been planning to increase a total of 805 seats in the year 2019. As of now, there have been total seats of 12,411 candidates in all the 20 IIMs. Once the proposal got approved by the centre, the number of seats will be increased upto 13,216 candidates in the year 2019.

IIM A & B has been planning to increase its seats by 380 and 425 in the new session respectively. Also if IIM B gets the approval, then it will be the second largest Institute in terms of intake after IIM Indore, that has a total of 1907 students. As of now, IIM Lucknow has been on the second place with the intake of 1332 students. Out of the total 425 seats in IIM-B, 300 will be available for 2 new MBA Programmes, 50 for Fellow Management Programme and 75 for Executive Post Graduate Programme.

Indian Institute of Management, Bengaluru has also proposed a loan of Rs. 200 crore for the investment in the infrastructure. As of now, IIM-B does not have such a great hostel to accommodate a total number of students in the year 2019. As well, IIM-B is all set to have another campus in the upcoming years.

Indian Institute of Management has also introduced few new MBA programmes in the year 2019. Although the admission will be held after the declaration of CAT result 2018. We wish all the aspirants best of luck for the IIM admission 2019 and CAT result 2018.
