IIT-JEE Advanced 2018 | 64% drop in the percentage of result from 2017

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) declared the result of JEE Advanced 2018 recently and the students are eager for admission. IIT JEE Advanced result 2018 has dropped down very much as compared to the last year’s result as per the reports. IIT Kanpur released the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced Result for the year 2018 on 10 June and now the run is for the admission.

After JEE Mains, the qualified candidates appeared for JEE Advanced to get through the admission in IITs or NITs for the year 2018. But the reports suggest that there has been a drop in percentage in the qualified candidates for the IIT JEE 2018 as per last year.

IIT JEE Advanced Result 2018: 64% Drop From 2017 Result

As per the result declared by IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Kanpur for the year 2018, Only 18,138 number of students qualified for the further process of admission in the IITs. As per reports of Times Now, there has been a 5 times dip in the number of qualified candidates in the IIT JEE Advanced 2018 as per last year. Despite the IITs have stuck to the cut-off score, but the results are just way too shocking.

In 2017, almost 50,455 aspirants had qualified the IIT JEE Advanced and in the year 2018, it has been one-third of the previous year. Whereas as per the percentage of the same is concerned, there has a dip of 64% from 2017 in the number of qualified candidates of IIT JEE Advanced 2018.

Although 2.33 lakh aspirants qualified the JEE Mains 2018 but only 1.55 Lakh candidates appeared for the IIT JEE Advanced 2018. This has even been a big dip in the registration of IIT JEE Advanced 2018 as well as compared to last year.

Know the Seat distribution of IIT JEE 2018 after the result

There have been a total of 11,279 seats in the IITs across the country for the year 2018. But the dip in the number of qualified students has left the experts doubtful regarding the filling up of the seats. Out of the total number of IIT JEE Advanced 2018 qualified students, 3834 will be carried out for the 1-year tutorial course. Whereas 2795 SC and 925 ST along with 114 PwD candidates will also be a part of this list of the IITs.

Although the subject wise minimum cut-off for the year 2018 by the IITs has been kept as 12 for General category and the total cut-off will be of 126 marks minimum for the candidates in IIT JEE Advanced 2018 to get admission in Indian Institute of Technology.
