Jagga Jasoos Off To A Great Start | Box Office Collection & Movie Review

Finally, the Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif starrer Jagga Jasoos after going through lots of bumps and grinds for four years has finally been released worldwide yesterday. The film is produced by the star trio of Siddharth Roy Kapoor, Anuraag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor, directed and written by Anurag Basu. Upon its release yesterday, Jagga Jasoos has minted Rs 8.57 crores at local box office on the very first day, which is not too bad, considering the inadequate performances of previously released Mom and Guest In London. Jagga Jasoos has been promoted under the banners of Walt Disney Pictures and UTV Motion Pictures.

Jagga Jasoos Off To A Fair Start

Bollywood’s mysterious, musical, adventurous rom-com flick Jagga Jasoos was initially slated to release last year in the month of November on 27th but was delayed due to some issues between lead actors. Jagga Jasoos is basically a cute movie made especially for kids and teenagers. Coming to its box office collection, movie’s total budget was 110 crore and it has made around 8.57 to 11.90 crores so far on its opening day at the box office. Though cannot be taken as a successful opening, but still a fair one taking consideration the recently launched Sridevi’s Mom, Paresh Rawal’s Guest In London and not to forget Salman Khan’s Tubelight.

Jagga Jasoos– Reviews

Anurag Basu has apparently given its audience an indulging cinematic experience with Jagga Jasoos regardless of its low box office collection. But he failed to escape from the eyes of the critics when it came to the storyline, which has been considered lame and boring apparently. The film, though very kids- centric has no plot whatsoever, and it can be a bit bland for an adult’s taste buds. The film is quite fresh and is very different from the mainstream Bollywood films which will not leave you disappointed in the end.

While some have given it a label of “Unbearably long and flat”, others have considered Jagga Jasoos a “beautiful mistake” that Bollywood should commit over and over again”. Ranbir Kapoor’s acting skills have been much appreciated in the movie which makes you watch the movie somehow till the end. The movie has very absorbing adventurous scenes that will take you back to your childhood and make you forget the outside world for sometime. All in all the film has been given a rating of 3.5 out of 5.
