Jalandhar to Delhi UDAN Low-Cost Flight Starts This Month | Fare, Timing & All Details

Passengers from Jalandhar to Delhi should be ready now as the one-hour flight service between the two cities is all set to take off the first of next month. The much awaited one hour flight between Jalandhar’s Adampur Airport to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport will commence flying from May 1, 2018, while bookings for the same will kick off from April 14, 2018.

Jalandhar to Delhi UDAN flights to kick off soon

The new Jalandhar to Delhi and vice versa flight will be commenced under the Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) initiative which means that the air services are getting started with an intent to improve regional connectivity. However, the air carrier Spice Jet will start the bookings for the flight. The UDAN flights starting between Jalandhar to Delhi also aims at promoting air services at affordable prices while another important flight servies including Ludhiana to Delhi and Pathankot to Delhi will soon kick off by the month of July 2018.

The Jalandhar airport will have tight security aid beefed up for the visitors as well as for the passengers. Best of the X-ray machines will be installed while the Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar has inspected the airport and has cleared the preparations for the flight take offs. Though no official announcement has been made about the Jalandhar to Delhi flight timings but it is likely to be a morning schedule for the takeoff from Jalandhar airport. After reaching its destination in Delhi within 1.5 to 2 hours the same flight will fly back touching the air base of Jalandhar by the evening.

Airfare and timing details of the Jalandhar-Delhi flights

Talking about its flight fare, the booking for Jalandhar to Delhi journey is expected to cost somewhere between Rs 2000 to Rs 2500 as its a UDAN initiative under National Civil Aviation Policy (NCAP) that was launched by the central government on June 15, 2016. Under this scheme, more and more short distance flight services will be made operational for ordinary middle-class passengers at an affordable airfare starting from Rs 1500 to Rs 3000 only.

Last year also, a similarly short distance flight from Shimla to Delhi was started under the UDAN scheme and its airfare was fixed at Rs 2500.
