All those who are eagerly waiting for Jeep Compass introduction in the Indian market. Here is good news for you! Fiat Chrysler India is all set to launch the made in India SUV- Jeep Compass on Indian roads on July 31, 2017. The American Carmaker Company is accepting bookings for new Jeep Compass on its website and in showrooms.
Jeep Compass India Launch 2017
The first made in India- Jeep Compass is all set to launch on 31st July 2017. Bookings for Jeep Compass SUV already started last month on June 20th, 2017. The made in India SUV has received an overwhelming response, more than 1000 units have been booked within first three days. The company is making bookings for Jeep Compass for a token of Rs. 50,000.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ (FCA) is manufacturing Jeep Compass at its assembly line in Ranjangaon near Pune. The company has invested more than Rs 1800 crore on this plant and managed to achieve 70 per cent parts localization for the Compass. Jeep Compass would be right-hand drive (RHD) and will not only be sold in India but will be exported to Japan and UK as well.
Jeep Compass: Features & Specification
Jeep Compass will be available for purchase in three variants-Sport, Longitude and Limited. The company has come up with Jeep Compass in two engine options – a 1.4-litre MultiAir turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.0-litre Multijet turbocharged diesel motor. Though Jeep Compass will initially be sold in a diesel manual gearbox configuration. The Company would launch the petrol version and a diesel automatic gearbox at a later date.

The company is offering Jeep Compass with some additional features such as 6 airbags, 17-inch alloy wheels, high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The boot offers 480 litres of cargo space which can be enhanced to a rather large 770 litres by folding the seats down. Buyers of Jeep Compass will have a color choice of Minimal Grey, Hydro Blue, Vocal White, Exotica Red and Hip Hop Black.
Jeep Compass has taken safety seriously and will be offered with Hill Start Assist, Traction control, four channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), Panic Brake Assist, Hydraulic Boost Failure Compensation, ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and Electronic Roll Mitigation. However these features will be available in the top model, the base model will come with decent safety technology.
Price of Jeep Compass (SUV) in India
Jeep Compass is expected to be launched in India at a starting price of Rs 18 lakh for the base variant. However, the top model 4×4 variant is likely to be priced at Rs 25 Lakh. The Jeep Compass will be in competition with recently launched VW Tiguan, Ford Endeavour, Toyota Fortuner, Honda CR-V and Hyundai Tucson.
