The most surprising launch of the year 2017 in India has been the Jeep Compass when it shut the competition with the exceptional pricing. Now Jeep India intends to do the trick again with a new Compact SUV which will challenge the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. Since the Compass is giving a tough time to cars like Creta, XUV500, and the Tucson it makes total sense for Jeep India to get a smaller compact SUV to take on cars like Ecosport, Duster, Nexon and the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza.
Jeep India’s new Compact SUV will hopefully be the Jeep Renegade
Remember the time Ben Affleck was riding through Gotham in the Jeep Renegade in the Batman vs. Superman? We have been waiting for it ever since. Now when Jeep India has confirmed a compact SUV to challenge the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza it is very likely it will not be a new product but the existing Jeep Renegade. It has the perfect dimensions to sit in the segment along with cars like Ecosport, Duster and the Nexon and might help Jeep India to make a dent into their sales.
The Jeep Renegade has a butch body design and is more SUV like than any of the cars in the competition like Maruti Suzuki Vitaraa Brezza. Since the car sold globally by Jeep measures around 4.3 metres in length, we suspect jeep India will try to launch a version of the car that is below 4 metres to avoid additional taxes on cars longer than 4 metres in India.
The Jeep Renegade that will eventually come to India will also lose out on some features to keep the costs low since Jeep India is trying to pitch it against the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza which is selling like hot cakes already.

The Jeep Renegade if truly comes to India will be chopped down to below 4 metres in length by Jeep India in order to keep the costs low. Since the main competition Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is priced around 9 lakh Rupees in India, it will be very essential for Jeep India to price the car accordingly because the buyer in this segment is looking for a more value for money deal. There are also chances that an entirely new SUV makes way to India in late 2019 if Jeep India decides not to bring the Renegade instead.
