Jeep Renegade, one of Jeep’s top-selling SUV was recently spotted testing in India. The testing vehicle clearly indicates that the American brand is planning to introduce the Jeep Compass sibling in India soon. It is being speculated that the Jeep Renegade might enter India like the local production of the Jeep Compass.
Testing mule of the Jeep Renegade spotted in India might get launched
Automaker Jeep indicated its arrival into the Indian automobile market after showcasing Jeep’s elite range of SUVs at the annual auto expo in 2016. The company showcased the Grand Cherokee SRT, Grand Cherokee and the popular Jeep Wrangler Unlimited at the 2016 Auto Exp in Delhi.
Fiat has already invested a large amount of money to manufacture Jeep-branded cars locally at its facility near Pune. According to a report, two different versions of the Renegade – a two wheel drive and another, a four-wheel drive of the Jeep Renegade were imported last year to carry out the R&D testing of the vehicle. The vehicle was being tested to adhere to Indian road conditions.

Jeep Compass’ success may act as a foundation for the Jeep Renegade
Jeep had launched the popular Jeep Compass in India under its expansion spree and to strengthen its brand position in other countries. Another aim to start manufacturing in India was to utilize the facility to manufacture the vehicle in India for exporting to countries like Australia, Japan and Britain.
Apparently, one of the imported Renegades was recently spotted in India during the trial runs on Indian roads. According to the report, the Jeep Renegade which might enter the Indian market in 2019 is likely to be based on the global facelift variant of the SUV.

Jeep’s compact SUV – the Jeep Renegade is expected to be the automaker’s secret weapon for the Indian market. The new product from Jeep, that has been spied several times, might cater to the demands of the mass market. The new SUV is likely to be launched in India sometime by early 2019.
The new Jeep Renegade might be launched in India with both petrol and diesel engine option. Jeep might introduce the new vehicle with a 1.4-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel engine options for the Indian market.
