Jio Phone Delivery Begins In A Phased Manner | Check Status & Know How To Collect Your Phone

Delivery of the much-anticipated Jio Phone has begun in India. As per the report, the deliveries of the Jio phone commenced earlier this week and as per a statement released by the company delivery of all the 6 million units will be done before Diwali.

Pre-booking of the Jio Phone started on 24 August and was paused within two days. All those who had booked the Jio phone during the first phase of booking had been anxiously waiting for their own Jio Phone. Finally, deliveries of the Jio Phone have started and all those who had booked their Jiophone will soon get their Jio Phone.

Jio phone deliveries begin in a phased manner

According to the report, deliveries of the Jio Phone have started and the company has stated that it will complete the delivery of the 6 million units that were booked earlier in August in 15 days. Before Diwali, all those who had booked the Jio Phone will get their handsets delivered to their registered address.

All the deliveries will be done in a phased manner to avoid any chaos or inconvenience to the consumers who had pre-booked their Jio phones in the month of August. The company has tweeted on Jio’s official Twitter handle @LYF_In that the deliveries of Jio handset have commenced in the country and will be done in a phased manner.

All the customers who had pre-booked their Jio Phone in the first pre-book phase will get their units by Diwali this year. The company has stated that Jiophone customers will get the status update of their Jio Phone delivery date via SMS on the registered mobile number.

Delivery in rural areas and small towns first

According to reports, the Jio phone customers in rural areas and small cities will get the handset before their counterparts in the urban areas. The report also mentioned that Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of the company, had stated that the idea behind launching Jio Phone is to bridge the digital gap between urban and rural India. With this aim, the delivery of Jio Phone has initially been started in rural areas and small towns.

Pre-booking of the much-anticipated Jio Phone started on August 24. This Jiophone is priced at Rs. 1500 which is refundable. The customers had paid Rs. 500 initially while booking the Jio Phone while the remainder Rs. 1,000 had to be paid by the purchaser while getting the delivery of the Jio handsets. The entire amount of Rs. 1500 is refundable and would be refunded against the return of the phone after three years.

No official date has been disclosed for the next round of Jio Phone booking but the company targets to deliver the first lot of 6 million Jio phones in 10-15 days.

It has been reported that with the sale of 6 million units of Jio Phone, the company is estimated to account for around 10 per cent of total mobile phone market in India in a quarter.

Here’s how to check the delivery status of your Jio Phone

To check the delivery status of your Jio Phone online the customer can visit the My Jio App and check the status. The status filed in the vouchers will display the delivery status and the exact delivery date of your Jio phone. The address of the store will also be mentioned in the filed from where the consumer can get his Jio phone delivery.

To check the delivery status of your Jio phone offline, the customer needs to call at the toll-free number mentioned in the message that he had received after booking the JioPhone. A call from the registered mobile number will easily reveal the delivery status of the Jio Phone.

As announced by the Reliance Jio Chairman Mukesh Ambani, voice calling for Jio phone customers would always be free. Against a payment of Rs. 153, the JioPhone users will get free calling clubbed with unlimited data for a month. The Jio Phone will come pre-loaded with Jio apps for messaging and entertainment. The phone can be easily connected to the television sets and by using the Jio TV app customers will also be able to watch live TV.
