The Problem child Kangana Ranaut is in a controversy yet again and this time it is the famous filmmaker Ketan Mehta.
Ketan Mehta claims that Kangana Ranaut has apparently “Hijacked” his most ambitious film script of Rani of Jhansi: The Warrior Queen a biopic of Rani Lakshmibai.
Kangana Ranaut Vs Ketan Mehta
Kangana Ranaut and Ketan Mehta were to team up for the dream project of the later filmmaker Rani of Jhansi. But things did not go as per the plans.
The National Award-Winning Actress Kangana recently rolled out a different project of a biopic on the same subject as of Ketan; Rani Lakshmibai. The actress’s project is named Manikarnika-Queen of Jhansi.
Since both of the films share a similar subject the actor and the director are now in a tough situation. And the director Ketan Mehta has accused Kangana Ranaut of stealing his ambitious script that he worked on for years.
On learning that Kangana is making the film with other directors, Ketan Mehta immediately started his legal proceedings against her and the producer Kamal Jain. Ketan stated that this is the most horrible thing that has ever happened to him in his life. “I am in shock!”
Manikarnika or Rani of Jhansi?
Kangana Ranut released the poster of Manikarnika earlier this May in Varanasi along with her full team of director, producer and music composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
The producer of Manikarnika, Kamal Jain has stated that the accusations made by Ketan Mehta are baseless and inaccurate and they have none of his research material with them.
Kangana was not very keen to do the movie with Ketan Mehta in English especially on a subject that is typical of the Indian history and thus did no sign any legal notice to act in the movie with the director.
Since Ketan Mehta was hospitalised for a minor surgery Kangana Ranaut came under sudden pressure to start the movie after she failed to project Rangoon. Kangana added that the producer Kamal Jain wanted to do the film with a new director and team.
As far as we can see, it is obvious that now we will see Kangana Ranaut as Rani Lakshmibai in the movie Manikarnika and not Rani of Jhansi.
