Kawasaki has launched illegal off-road motorcycles Kawasaki KX450F and Kawasaki KLX450R in India. Yes, you read it right, the motorcycle maker has launched off-roading motorcycles in India that are illegal to drive on Indian roads. 

It is indeed a good news for aspiring motocross riders, as the Kawasaki KX450F and Kawasaki KLX450R, off-roading bikes have been launched in India by Kawasaki. The motorcycle-maker, Kawasaki India has added KX450F and KLX450R, two new off-roading bikes to its comprehensive off-road lineup.

Illegal off-roading bikes launched by Kawasaki in India

As per reports, Kawasaki has launched Kawasaki KX450F and Kawasaki KLX450R off-roading motorcycles that are illegal to drive on the Indian roads. The report also mentions that these off-road bikes Kawasaki KX450F and Kawasaki KLX450R that have been launched by Kawasaki cannot be registered as these off-roading bikes are not road legal.

The Kawasaki KX450F and Kawasaki KLX450R that have been recently launched by Kawasaki in India can only be driven at special enclosures. Driving Kawasaki KX450F and Kawasaki KLX450R will only be restricted to closed off-road trails and off-road events in India.

Price of Kawasaki KX450F and KLX450R off-roading bikes

Kawasaki has expanded its off-road portfolio by launching illegal off-roading bikes the Kawasaki KX450F and Kawasaki KLX450R in India. While the Kawasaki KX450F has been launched at Rs 7.97 lakh, the Kawasaki KLX450R would cost Rs 8.49 lakh. These off-roading motorcycles are illegal to drive on the roads in Indian as these bikes are made for special terrains.

Though the launch of Kawasaki KX450F and Kawasaki KLX450R in India is a good news for aspiring motocross riders yet these illegal off-roading motorcycles will be brought into the country via the ‘CBU’ route, the way other Kawasaki bikes are brought to India.

Kawasaki’s illegal off-roading bikes KX450F and KLX450R in India

Targeted at experienced off-roading riders having mid to high levels of experience, the illegal motorcycles Kawasaki KX450F and Kawasaki KLX450R hail from the KX series of Kawasaki which is known for its simplistic design.

The KX450F off-roading bike from Kawasaki that has been launched in India, is the lightest machine in its segment. The KX450F weighs just 108kg (kerb). The significant weight of the lightest machine has been achieved via the significant weight reduction that has been done in the chassis and engine department.

The off-roading machine has a has a ground clearance of 335mma and is powered by a single-cylinder liquid-cooled four-stroke fuel-injected 450cc motor. The motor has been tuned to deliver maximum low and mid-range performance.

Specifications of the Bikes launched by Kawasaki in India

The off-roading motorcycle comes with 20-position rebound damping and 22-position compression adjustment. The machine comes with 18-inch spoke wheel at the rear and a 21-inch one at the front, which are believed to be suitable for most off-road tracks. Both the front and rear wheel of the illegal off-roading motorcycle possess a travel of 304mm, that makes the bike a pure breed motorcross specialist.

With a ground clearance of 320mm and a wheelbase of 1480mm and this off-roader is a delight on the terrains without roads. Suspension duties of the off-roading bike are handled by a 48mm inverted AOS type telescopic fork at the front. For better control and grip, the front fork comes with a 22-way compression and 20-way damping; while the rear is equipped with a Uni-Trak adjustable monoshock. The rear also gets compression damping, 22-way low-speed and 22 way rebound damping spring load as well at the back for better suspension.

The illegal off-roading Kawasaki bike comes with a 8-litre fuel tank, which is the largest among Kawasaki off-roaders.
