Aadhaar Card Link Deadline For Your SBI Bank Account is December 31 | Here’re The Details

The national bank, State Bank of India (SBI) has now set the deadline, December 31, 2017 as the last date to link Aadhar card number with the bank accounts for its customers. All the banks are linking the accounts of their customers with their Aadhaar numbers issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to keep the bank aloof of the fake customers and their bogus accounts.

As per the guidelines of the Government of India, all the banks in the country have to link Aadhaar card of their customers with their respective bank accounts. And now, to abide by the laws set up by the government, SBI reminds all its customers to link their bank account with their Aadhaar before the deadline ends.

How to link your Aadhar card number with SBI accounts

There may be many to you who have still not linked their Aadhaar number with their bank accounts. For those who now wish to link their SBI account with their Aadhaar number, will have to submit their 12-digit Aadhaar number along with the permanent account numbers (PANs) on or before December 31, 2017. The entire process of linking the Aadhaar with the bank account will take place online on the official website of the State Bank of India (SBI) or via ATM, via bank branch or by SMS.

For online process

To link your bank account with the Aadhaar number online, the customer will have to first visit the official website of SBI and login www.onlinesbi.com. Now go to “My Account and then to “ Link you Aadhaar number” appearing on your screen. Now you will be redirected to a new screen to select your account and then submit your Aadhaar number. Once you submit your Aadhar number, you will be able to see the last two digits of the registered mobile number on your computer screen followed by an SMS on the registered mobile number confirming the completion of the linking process.

To link via the bank branch itself

To link your bank account with the Aadhar number via your bank branch itself, visit your branch along with a hard copy of your Aadhaar card or the print out of your e-aadhaar. Along with it, the customer need to write a letter of request followed by a brief verification, your linking process will be completed and you will receive an SMS on your registered mobile number as confirmation.

For SMS process of Aadhar card linking with SBI

With your registered mobile number send an SMS typing UID<space>12-digit Aadhaar number<space>Account number to 567676. You will now receive an SMS in reply confirming the link. SBI will verify the Aadhaar number submitted by you with UIDAI. If it doesn’t match, the customer will receive an SMS for contacting their bank branch of SBI.

Link your SBI account with Aadhaar number via ATM

Go to any SBI ATM and swipe your ATM card followed by entering your pin. Now go to the menu and select “Service – Registrations” followed by select “Aadhaar registration”. Now select the type of account and then enter your Aadhaar number followed by re-entering it again. Now you will get an SMS confirming the link.
