As per the mandate given by the Central government, it is necessary to link your Aadhar number with various services and documents to continue using them. The deadline for many services is December 31, therefore people who have not yet linked their Aadhar with these services are advised to do it immediately. Here’s how to link your Aadhar with these services.
Link Aadhar with PAN Card
To link Aadhar with PAN one needs to visit the income tax official website and enter his/her PAN card and Aadhar card details and follow the instructions to complete the process.
Link Aadhar with Bank Account
To link any Bank Account with the Aadhar, one needs to visit the respective bank branch and submit the Aadhar details. The bank account can also be linked to Aadhar through the internet or mobile banking. To link Aadhar with bank account through net banking, you can login into your net banking account and click on the “Update Aadhar” link. Enter the details of your Aadhar and submit them online. The bank will send an OTP (One Time Password) to your registered mobile number, which will be required to complete the process.
Linking Aadhar with Mutual Fund Folio
The stockbroking companies CAMS and Karvy offer an online process to link your Aadhar to your mutual fund account. One can visit the website of CAMS or Karvy and find the LInk your Aadhar tab. Enter your details and follow the instructions, an OTP will be sent to your mobile number. Enter the OTP to complete the Aadhar linking process.
Link Aadhar with Insurance Policies
To link Aadhar with the insurance policy, one can visit the website or customer service of the respective insurance provider. Your insurance policy number and date of birth will be needed to link your Aadhar with the insurance policy. Once your date of birth and policy number are verified you can enter your Aadhar number to link it to your insurance policy. Currently, the LIC, SBI Life, Max Life Insurance and ICICI Prudential offers the online services for Aadhar linking.
Post Office Schemes
It is mandatory to link your post office account or post office saving schemes like NSC and PPF with your Aadhar number. To link Aadhar with your post office account, one should visit the India Post website and download the Aadhar linking form. Then you need to fill the form and submit it to the post office where you have an account.
Link Aadhar with Mobile Number
The government has made it mandatory to link your mobile numbers with Aadhar. For doing so, you can to the nearest outlet of your cellular service provider and they will help you to link your Aadhar to your mobile number.
The deadline to link your PAN, Bank Account, Mutual fund folio, Insurance policy and post office account with Aadhar is December 31, 2017. The deadline to link your mobile number with your Aadhar is February 6, 2018.
