Liquor Vends in Mohali & Parts of Chandigarh Shut For 3 Days

It’s election time and Punjab is all set for the D-Day which happens to be 4th February 2017. Keeping in mind the Punjab Assembly Elections, Chandigarh Administration has decided to shut the selling of the liquor in Chandigarh for 3 days.

Hold on!

Chandigarh does not come in Punjab and is still a UT, but the administration has decided to shut liquor vends that are located near the Punjab border.

According to the orders, liquor vends in Chandigarh which falls under 3 KM of Punjab’s boundary will remain closed for 3 days. The days are from 2nd February to 4th February.

Restaurants & Beer Cafes also Closed

All the liquor shops and bars will be closed for 3 days in Punjab and even the restaurant and hotels that serve liquor will not serve it during the Punjab Assembly Elections 2017. Apart from Punjab, restaurants and cafes of Chandigarh that fall within 3 KM of the boundaries of Punjab have been ordered not to serve liquor to guests.

  • In Chandigarh, 33 Liquor shops will remain closed for 3 days.
  • 15 bars will also not serve liquor during this period.
  • Some restaurants have also been ordered not to serve liquor during election days.
  • Even Chandigarh Club in Sector 1 and Hotel Mountview at Sector 10 will not serve liquor to their guests during these 3 days.

These orders will end only after the polling has been completed on 4th February 2017. The approximate time for the same is 6 PM.
