The list of top selling SUVs (Sports Utility Vehicle) in India for the month of November 2017 is finally out and there have been new entries in the list as well. The SUV segment in India is growing with most of the major car manufacturers launching new models in the SUV segment. Data reveals that the SUV segment in India has grown tremendously over the last couple of years. The SUV models that have captured most of the shares in the segment are the sub-four-metre models from different carmakers.
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Breeza tops the segment
The Sports Utility Vehicle segment, that has been growing enormously in India, has seen several new models launched recently by different automakers. In the last couple of years, SUV models under the sub-four-metre category have seen a tremendous growth due to consumers’ inclination towards segment.
Though Ford introduced the EcoSport in the segment, yet Maruti Suzuki Vitara Breeza became the popular choice for the consumers in the segment. Maruti Suzuki joined the sub-compact SUV bandwagon couple of years back with the Vitara Brezza but since launch, the sub-compact SUV from Maruti Suzuki has been one of the top selling machines from the Maruti Suzuki stable. Vitara Breeza has been the top seller in the segment from Maruti Suzuki.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza became a popular SUV in the Indian market and it has retained its stance in the segment even after two years since of launch. As per the report, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza has once again stamped its dominance in the segment.
List of top selling SUVs in India in November 2017
Ford’s EcoSport made an impressive comeback in the month of November after the American company launched the facelift version of the popular Ford EcoSport. Ford EcoSport sold a total of 5,474 units in the month of November as compared to just 400 units in October 2017.
Maruti Suzuki Breeza was followed by Hyundai Creta which is the second best-selling SUV in November 2017. As per the report, Hyundai Motor sold 8,528 units of the Creta in November and the car from Hyundai’s stable is also one of the top 10 selling cars in India in the same month. Tata Motors too entered the sub-compact SUV segment with its Tata Nexon. Though car enthusiasts expected more out of the much-awaited Nexon but the automaker Tata only sold 4,163 units in November 2017.
While the Tata Nexon stood at the fifth spot in the top selling SUV list, and Mahindra Scorpio came sixth, ahead of Japanese carmaker Honda WR-V.
